2007 Autumn Walk - 20 May 2007

The Trust's annual Autumn Walk, on Sunday 20 May, was well attended by over 40 interested walkers - some as far afield as Belrose. It comprised a solid two hour exploration through Lane Cove National Park and some of the streets in Beecroft and Cheltenham. A representative from the Trust's History Group spoke about the heritage houses our walkers passed. We later enjoyed afternoon tea in the Hut of the Happy Omen at Ahimsa - the former home of Marie Byles, the first practising woman solicitor in NSW and a devoted environmentalist. She bequeathed Ahimsa to the National Trust of Australia, so her property in Cheltenham would be available for other like-minded environmentalists, to relax and appreciate the serenity of the bushland. We have a great Spring Walk scheduled in September .
